The closest airport is Marseilles and it is very easy to get to Aix-en-Provence as there is a bus between the airport and the center of Aix that runs every 30 minutes in both directions. The journey takes 30 minutes and it is very pleasant. You can also fly in and out of Paris if you'd like to spend some time there before or after the workshop. You can take the high-speed TGV train between Paris and Aix, a very pleasant and amazingly fast 2.5 hours between the two cities. Cello Rentals will be available

The MGallery Grand Hôtel Roi René is a 4-star superior hotel conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Cours Mirabeau and Old Town Aix, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. It features an interior courtyard with terrace and heated outdoor pool.

What to expect / physical activity
All participants must be in generally good health. Any condition that may require assistance or special medical attention must be reported at the time of your application. Participation in the tours for this program requires the fitness to be expected of everyday walking and stair climbing, and to be able to walk 2-3 miles unaided. Walking in historic districts frequently involves navigating uneven surfaces. Many historic venues do not have an elevator available and require use of the staircase. Museum visits frequently involve standing for up to 20 minutes.
Application process, deadlines and payments
The faculty welcomes pre-formed groups as well as individual musicians. Please note that enrollment is limited to 40 participant musicians for each workshop week. Acceptance will depend upon the number of applicants and the need for balanced instrumentation in assembling the participants into full ensembles.
Fees include a non-refundable application deposit of $500 per participant and $300 per guest. Deposit must accompany registration application.
Payment in full is due by January 30, 2025. No refunds after January 30, 2025. In the case of applicants who are not accepted, deposits will be returned.
